We worked together...businesses, farmers, the National Trust and National Park wardens and officials, locals and we got some of the first footpaths opened in the Lake District. The businesses and locals tried to help each other by referring visitors to each other's businesses, by exchanging up-to-date information regarding the crisis and by talking about it!

Throughout those terrible days, we kept in touch.

Last year in July, we held the first formal meeting of the LINK Initiative...since then, we've raised funds, produced a leaflet and website, created a newsletter and are beginning to address the issues that will be essential to protect this most beautiful place on earth.
